Salon des Amis

This review by Victoria Donohoe of the show at Salon Des Amis, in
which 16 Dumpster Divers are represented, appeared today in the Inquirer
Weekend section. Note: the show has been extended till June 20th.

‘Arthouse’ show

“Arthouse,” an extravagant, 162-item show curated by artists/
collectors Betsy Alexander and Burnell Yow! at Salon des Amis Gallery
in Malvern, features other work by most of the same talent whose art
fills the couple’s Fitler Square home.

The energy and conviction that charge this display’s enigmatic images
of people, places, dreams and nightmares is impressive. And the large
showing of found-object pieces by key Dumpster Diver artists makes
other exotic or primitivistic imagery look neither gratuitous nor self-
indulgent.

Salon des Amis Gallery, 2321 Yellow Springs Rd, Malvern. To June 20.
Tue-Sat 11-6, Sun 1-6. Free. 610-647-6010.
